The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is an independent Bay Area organization that has preserved a regional greenbelt system of 65,000 acres of public land and 26 open space preserves. The Purisima Upland property is a mix of farmland and rangeland adjacent to an open space that the MPOSD would like to evaluate.  Historic oil production on the site is interspersed through the site.  Geocon provided environmental assessments for the District under an on-call contract and additional studies and mitigation planning is underway.
