e conceptual and design work for Elements Irvine began in 2013, envisioning a high-density development to replace the older commercial and industrial buildings previously occupying the site. Geocon conducted a comprehensive geotechnical investigation to support the construction of this 1,600-unit, six-story apartment complex. Elements Irvine combines modern urban living with a mix of luxury amenities, including rooftop pools, a fitness center, entertainment spaces, athletic courts, and on-site dining options. The project supports Irvine’s shift toward maximizing space utilization and enhancing mixed-use living in the heart of the city.
Throughout the design phase, Geocon additionally performed plan review services, provided pavement and in-place pipe abandonment recommendations, and presented a slope stability analysis for the temporary excavation of the subterranean parking structure.
Once construction began, Geocon continued our work by performing all geotechnical testing and observation services.
The main structure, ‘Metal Building’, at Elements Irvine was completed in 2019. The latest phase, which includes the ‘Wood Building,’ has finished as of 2024, and development is ongoing as plans for further expansion continue.
“Geocon’s reports are always accurate and thorough no matter the complexity of the site and soil conditions. We don’t need a second opinion when Geocon is involved. Their recommendation is what we trust and go with”
