The City of Sacramento’s $240 million C3 project includes the renovation and expansion of the Sacramento Convention Center. Improvements throughout the center designed by Populous, will increase exhibition space to over 70,000 sf, conference/meeting rooms will increase to 15,000sf, as well as improvements to the back of house facilities and a new western lobby entrance on an expansive plaza. The newly renovated center will be a key element in the continued revitalization of Sacramento’s downtown area.
Geocon was selected to conduct hazardous materials testing services for the structures associated with the proposed demolition/renovation operations. Geocon’s geotechnical team prepared a geotechnical investigation for the new structures and followed up with testing and inspection during construction. Construction is expected to continue into 2020.
