The 146th Airlift Wing is a unit of the California Air National Guard whose primary mission is to provide global military airlift capability to state and federal agencies. Geocon performed a geotechnical investigation for a proposed 6,900-square-foot multi-purpose instructional facility located at the 146th Airlift Wing Channel Islands Air National Guard (ANG) located in Ventura County, California. The 146th utilizes the Lockheed C-130J Super Hercules aircraft to provide humanitarian relief following natural disasters in California and throughout the world.
