The new headquarters building for the California Department of General Services is an 838,000 sf 20-story building with an additional 2-story low rise structure which will include retail space, fitness area and a food court. The buildings are designed to meet LEED Platinum and net-zero standards. The high- rise building will provide work spaces for 3500 employees with staff from the California Natural Resources Agency, Department of Water Resources, Department of Conservation, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Wildlife Conservation Board.
As part of the Turner/AC Martin design-build team Geocon performed a geotechnical investigation and is providing testing and observation during construction.
