Vista Village Drive Trunk Sewer Improvements
Vista, California

Geocon performed geotechnical engineering services for the Vista Village Drive Trunk Sewer Improvements project in the city of Vista, California. The improvements consisted of the installation of approximately 3,600 lineal feet of a new sewer pipeline. The new sewer trunk alignment extends from Hacienda Drive at the northern terminus of La Tortuga Drive to the north, crosses the Buena Vista Creek and SR 78 highway to West Vista Way, then further traverses along West Vista Way eastward to near the intersection with Vista Village Drive. The segment of sewer pipeline under SR 78 was installed via trenchless construction method. This project increased sewer capacity while preserving the environment and preserving disruptions. This project helps reduce sanitary sewer overflows and spills to the community and nearby infrastructure.

During the engineering and design phase of the project, Geocon performed a geotechnical investigation and provided geotechnical recommendations for the proposed improvements. We further performed geotechnical observation, material testing and special inspection services during the construction phase of project.

The Vista Village Drive Trunk Sewer Improvements project received multiple awards such as the 2020 Project of the year from the American Public Works Association (APWA), 2021 Engineering Excellence award presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and the 2021 National Recognition Award granted by ACEC National.
