Legacy Livermore
Livermore, California

Livermore, founded in 1869, is one of the oldest wine regions in California.  Historic downtown Livermore is being revitalized with new shopping, cinema, performing arts center and a cultural district.  The new downtown Legacy Livermore project is a mixed-use development consisting of two buildings that, together, contain 222 apartments and approximately 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space with publicly accessible landscaped courtyards, a public walking path and a private rooftop terrace and swimming pool for residents. The site was developed more than 100 years ago and was used as an auto dealership and multiple other commercial businesses.  Seven underground storage tanks were present and adjacent properties also indicated potential for contaminates on-site.

Geocon was retained by Legacy Partners to provide both geotechnical and environmental services.  A geotechnical investigation was completed and testing and observation services are on-going.  Phase I and Phase II environmental studies by Geocon confirmed that soil management would be required during construction.  Grading operations are currently on-going.
