When severe winter storms damaged North Gate Road at Mount Diablo State Park, California State Parks undertook an emergency repair to restore this important route through the park.
Geocon supported the project from investigation through construction, providing geotechnical evaluation and recommendations for the roadway and slope repairs, followed by construction observation and testing. That continuity carried our understanding of site conditions into the field and supported the project team as work progressed from design through construction.
Now complete, the North Gate Road Emergency Slide Repair was named a 2025 APWA Northern California Chapter Project of the Year Award winner in the Disaster or Emergency Construction/Repair category.
