Mr. Berliner serves as President of Geocon West, where he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s technical practice throughout Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. Since beginning his career in 1992, he has developed extensive geotechnical engineering expertise across Southern California, successfully delivering a broad range of projects for both public- and private-sector clients.

Mr. Berliner’s project experience includes multi-story office buildings, regional retail centers, parking structures, sound stages and studio facilities, educational campuses, mixed-use and multi-family residential developments, large-scale land development projects, roadways, pavement rehabilitation, bridges, pipelines, and solar energy facilities. He has particular expertise in projects involving deep excavations, temporary and permanent shoring systems, and groundwater mitigation, as well as those requiring drilled and driven piles, micropiles, stone columns, cement and lime stabilization, soil nailing, compaction grouting, underpinning, and other ground improvement and mitigation techniques.

In addition, Mr. Berliner possesses extensive experience in forensic geotechnical engineering, providing technical support for project dispute resolution and frequently serving as a geotechnical expert witness. His responsibilities also include the management of large on-call geotechnical engineering and special inspection contracts. He is widely recognized for delivering innovative, practical geotechnical solutions and for his consistent ability to execute complex projects within demanding schedules and budget constraints.
