Lisa Battiato is a Senior Geologist and Regional Manager with nearly 30 years of experience providing geological and geotechnical services throughout Southern California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of California, Riverside, and is a licensed Professional Geologist (PG 7512) and Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG 2316). Ms. Battiato is also a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Pavement Manager, and she is a U.S. Army Veteran with experience in Military Intelligence Logistics.
Currently, Ms. Battiato serves as Senior Geologist and Regional Manager for Geocon West, Inc., where she manages a multidisciplinary team of approximately 30 engineers, geologists, and laboratory and inspection staff supporting public and private projects throughout Riverside County and beyond. Her responsibilities include business development, personnel and logistical management, strategic planning of geotechnical investigations, and providing construction-phase geotechnical support. She is one of four professionals comprising Geocon’s Leadership Group, contributing to companywide strategic decisions, policies, and the implementation of AI processes. Under her leadership, the Murrieta office successfully transitioned from a focus on land development to public works, which now represents approximately 70 percent of the office’s workload. She also performs peer review of geological and geotechnical reports for multiple cities and counties, including Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County.
Ms. Battiato is actively involved in professional organizations and leadership roles, serving as Chair of the Association of Engineering Geologists – Inland Empire and holding multiple offices with the American Public Works Association Coachella Valley branch. She is recognized for her adaptability, collaborative leadership style, big-picture vision, and ability to manage the detailed logistics of complex, multi-level projects while fostering respectful and productive working relationships.
