Mr. Harry Derkalousdian, PE, serves as Vice President at Geocon, bringing 19 years of engineering experience in Southern California, including extensive work across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties. Harry Derkalousdian began his professional geotechnical engineering career as a lab technician with Geocon in 2005 after graduating from CSU Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Known for his natural leadership abilities, Mr. Derkalousdian directs a team of engineers and oversees all aspects of project management, including field exploration programs, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, preparation of technical reports, and providing geotechnical oversight during construction.

As Vice President, Mr. Derkalousdian’s portfolio spans municipal infrastructure, city and state facilities, commercial and residential developments, educational institutions, and multi-story mixed-use developments. His expertise also extends to forensic studies and proficiency in multiple software applications, such as CAD, spreadsheet design, and word processing, ensuring precise and efficient project execution.

Notably, he has played a pivotal role in high-profile projects like the UCLA Warren Hall Southwest Campus Apartments, where he provided geotechnical engineering recommendations, oversight during construction and ensured  quality assurance.

Outside of work, Harry enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, attending his kids’ basketball games and cheer competitions. He has volunteered as a basketball coach for over 10 years, sharing his love for the game with others. Harry is also passionate about playing and watching basketball, and he’s an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan!
