Geocon is a dynamic Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Services, Engineering Geology, and Construction Inspection firm with 11 offices throughout Northern and Southern California. We have an immediate need for a dedicated and professional Special Inspector for a wide variety of public and privately funded projects throughout the Los Angeles area. We are looking for a person with a positive attitude and who is organized, computer literate, detail-oriented, and works well under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a willingness to travel, commitment to client service, professionalism, accuracy, and for whom workplace health and safety are imperative.

Qualifications:

• High School Education or equivalent
• Approximately 1 to 10 years of experience
• Certifications:  Nuclear Density Gauge Certification, ICC Soils, LA City Deputy Grading
• Valid Driver’s License required for travel to and between job sites, and for transportation of specialized equipment such as nuclear gauges
• Varied experience from receiving on-the-job training to being able to handle most field work. 
• Capable of handling simple to slightly more complex projects.
• Working under supervision. 
• Maintaining and appropriately using field equipment and safety equipment.
• Physical Demands: This job generally is spent in the field.  Requires ability to lift 50 pound samples or equipment.

Senior Project Engineer
Murrieta, California

Geocon operates 11 California offices in Sacramento (Rancho Cordova), Placer County (Rocklin), Stockton, Suisun City, Livermore, Los Angeles (Burbank), Murrieta, Loma Linda, Cathedral City, Irvine, and San Diego.

Project Engineer or Geologist
Murrieta & Coachella Valley, California

Established in 1971, GEOCON is a dynamic firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, Environmental Services, Engineering Geology, Materials Testing, and construction inspection, with nine offices throughout Northern and Southern California. GEOCON is ranked on ENR’s TOP 500 Design Firms year after year. We work on a variety of projects, including hillside grading for residential development, public agency infrastructure, high-density housing, new and innovative school campuses, science/commercial buildings, infill, mid-rise structures, parking structures, and major capital improvement projects, which help maintain public infrastructure.

Geocon’s Riverside County operations are seeking to add a project-level engineer or geologist to the team in the Murrieta office to work throughout Riverside County and southern California.  The ideal candidate will have mastered the preparation of geotechnical investigation, as-graded geotechnical, and associated reports and letters.  They will have mastered proposal preparation and budget control and have experience in independently managing various stages of geotechnical projects.  Excellent communication is key, as is the ability to collaborate with other Geocon offices and follow procedures.

Recommended Experience/Requirements:

• Five or more years of experience in geotechnical project management
• B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Geology
• Preferred Licensed as a California Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
