Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Caltrans certifications preferred but not required
  • Nuclear density gauge certification required
  • Licenses: Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record required for travel to and between job sites, and for transportation of specialized equipment such as nuclear gauges
  • Must be able to pass physical and routine drug tests
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
  • Personal truck or SUV for use to travel to various sites

Compensation is based on level of experience and current certifications, pay range $21-$38.50

Senior Remediation Engineer
Bay Area, California

Geocon has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual seeking a senior-level engineering position to manage environmental consulting and remediation projects for a wide variety of public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and managing multiple project phases, perform fieldwork independently, and oversee subcontractors and other field personnel and prepare workplans, reports and other related documents. The position will also include the management and training of environmental staff. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to accept challenges, resourcefulness, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop workplans, coordinate and perform site investigation field activities, and oversee subcontractors
  • Prepare/Review reports of findings
  • Prepare/Perform remedial alternatives evaluations, cost estimating, remedial action plans, remediation system design and O&M, and community participation plans

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (Graduate level education preferred)
  • California Professional Registration (PE) required
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training required
  • Valid California drivers’ license, current DMV printout, and vehicle for use to travel to various sites

Environmental Geologist/Engineer

Job Description:

  • Perform environmental site assessments (Phase I and II ESAs)
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work, perform site investigation coordination, oversee subsurface exploratory borings and trenches, install and sample groundwater monitoring wells, etc.
  • Assist in the development of laboratory testing programs
  • Complete test trench and boring logs, prepare geologic cross-sections, maps, and other illustrations
  • Preparation of reports of findings
  • Assist in the preparation of remedial alternatives evaluations, cost estimating, remedial action plans, community participation plans, etc.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Engineering
  • Professional Registration (PE or PG) preferred
  • Graduate level education preferred but not required
