Has demonstrated the ability to perform above senior staff level.  Starts to manage more complex projects independently. Work is reviewed by project manager or team leader. Expectations are that little review is required. Demonstrates good judgment and maturity. Knows when to apply personal judgment without supervision. Good written and verbal skills. Has the ability to manage budget and schedule for more complex projects.

Physical Demands: This job splits time between a professional office environment and field time.  Requires the ability to lift 20-pound samples or equipment.

Expected Hours of Work: Generally Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm

Compensation Range: Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience, pay range $47-$50

Essential Functions: Work Level requires responsible judgement on simple to moderately complex projects under the direction of senior professionals.  Gathers, organizes and analyses field data.  Prepares simple to moderately complex technical reports or portions of complex reports and prepares permit application packages.  Supports site characterizations, field monitoring, soil testing and remedial investigations.  Work is supervised.  Spends significant time in the field performing field investigations/construction monitoring procedures/ remedial monitoring.

Experience/Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Caltrans certifications preferred but not required
• ICC certifications (Concrete and Masonry required; Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Welding, Fireproofing and Commercial Building Inspector preferred but not required)
• DSA Masonry certification preferred but not required
• CWI certification preferred but not required
• IFC Firestop certification preferred but not required
• Licenses: Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record required for travel to and between job sites, and for transportation of specialized equipment such as nuclear gauges
• Personal truck or SUV for use to travel to various sites
• Must be able to pass a physical and routine drug tests
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
