Geocon Announces Leadership Transition: Welcoming Our New Chief Executive Officer – Shawn Weedon, and Vice President – Harry Derkalousdian

Shawn Weedon, GE, has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Geocon, succeeding Joe Vettel, who served as CEO and led the company through a period of significant growth. With over 25 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, Shawn has played a pivotal role in Geocon’s success, contributing to a wide range of high-profile projects across Southern California. As CEO, Shawn will lead the company’s strategic direction, focusing on innovation, client satisfaction, and expanding Geocon’s impact in the geotechnical engineering field. His expertise in geotechnical analyses, foundation design, and creative problem-solving will be invaluable as Geocon continues to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of the industry.

Harry Derkalousdian, PE, has been appointed Vice President (VP) of Geocon West, Inc. With 19 years of experience in the industry, Harry has demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical expertise, successfully managing staff and overseeing complex geotechnical projects across Southern California. Harry will oversee engineering operations in his new role, ensuring the continued excellence of Geocon’s project execution and client service. His vast experience in municipal infrastructure, educational institutions, and multi-story structures makes him an invaluable asset to Geocon’s leadership team.
