Mr. Reist began his engineering geology career when he joined Geocon in 1998, specializing in technically challenging projects within landslide prone formations, hard rock, and low strength soils. Troy enjoys the complexities of challenging geotechnical exploration projects, while managing the everyday needs of Geocon’s clients in the large master-planned community development field. He has contributed to client projects throughout San Diego County, including Harmony Grove Village, Torrey Hills, Otay Ranch, 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Fanita Ranch, and The Lakes. Troy has “down-hole” logged over 500 exploratory borings, most of which were in problematic geologic formations and landslides. He has attended technical workshops in Switzerland, Norway, Japan and across the United States with some of the top landslide experts and geotechnical engineers. Troy continues to refine his abilities and expertise through hands on practical experience.

Outside of the office, Troy enjoys spending time with his “girls”, traveling, cooking and getting dirty on the Geocon softball team. Troy is also active in the community with coaching girls’ softball, teaching geology and rock and mineral lessons at the elementary schools in his neighborhood, and volunteering at his daughters’ events.
