Full-Time Project Engineer
Los Angeles, California

Geocon, a leading geotechnical, geologic, and environmental engineering consulting firm, has an immediate, full-time opening in its Burbank office for a project engineer with 5-7 years of professional working experience at a geotechnical consulting firm providing services on public works, transportation, water resources, institutional, and land development projects.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering required (master’s degree preferred).
  • 5-7 years of professional experience required.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of geotechnical engineering and earthquake engineering principles. Familiarity with the local geology and local Building Official is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills – grammar, editing, proofreading, comprehension, and communication.
  • Software proficiencies should include Microsoft Office and applicable engineering programs.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking, attending to detail, meeting deadlines, and communicating with clients/potential clients.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and works well under tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter and initiator.
  • Experience maintaining and developing client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including engineering analysis, report preparation, field exploration, and laboratory testing services.
  • Provide project-level development of proposals and reports.
  • Perform geotechnical construction observation.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and design for slope stability, liquefaction, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, shoring, and pavement.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports related to the development of municipal, residential, and commercial projects.
  • Client coordination and communication.

Soils Technician
Sacramento, California

Geocon is seeking a dedicated, professional soils technician for a wide variety of projects throughout the greater Sacramento area. Positive attitude, willingness to travel, and commitment to client service, professionalism, accuracy, and workplace health and safety are imperative.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Caltrans certifications preferred but not required
  • Nuclear density gauge certification required

Senior Engineering Geologist
