GEOCON’s San Diego office has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative Marketing & Proposal Coordinator to support the Marketing and Business Development Team’s efforts throughout San Diego. This is a full-time, hybrid position that works directly with the Business Development Director and Marketing team. The role focuses on developing content in accordance with our marketing plan, writing proposals/submittals, database management, assisting with social media postings, market research, and performing other marketing tasks, as assigned. It requires being a team player and having exceptional organization and writing skills using your superior knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite/BlueBeam Revu.
Recommended Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience is preferred with marketing in the A/E/C industry, particularly with preparing proposals/submittals in response to Request for Proposals/Qualifications (RFPs/RFQs)
- Excellent writing and proofing skills; support strategic responses and be a creative storyteller while ensuring all assigned work is double-proofed and consistent before distributing
- Excellent research/information-gathering skills
- High-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
- Experience in data management
- A passion for accuracy in maintaining data and details
- Ability to organize work and meet deadlines while faced with interruptions and competing priorities
- Self-starter and initiator
- Enthusiasm for marketing and design strategies
- Ability to think creatively in order to further develop the position and processes
- Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute (wpm)
- Associates degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Marketing, Communications, English Language Arts, Journalism, or related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Support Marketing Team and Business Development Director in proactive marketing initiatives
- Assist with database program implementation and maintenance
- Preparation of statements of qualifications and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs, including print production
- Format, organize, and compile needed proposal qualifications content (especially non-technical proposal sections as needed)
- Develop/locate/gather visual elements for the marketing library, proposals, and presentations
- Proactively create / update resumes and project profiles
- Assist in designing presentations and custom marketing materials such as brochures and posters
- Maintain the marketing library, which features project descriptions and personnel resumes
- Assist with social media updates
- Research and track business development opportunities
- Occasionally assist with local delivery of documents to clients
- May provide business development support through attendance at professional industry events, pre-proposal meetings, outreach events, fundraisers, trade shows, conventions, and golf tournaments as needed
- Administrative support duties as needed, including but not limited to answering phones, preparing packages for shipment, and maintaining a neat and orderly working environment.
Essential Functions
Assembling documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Xerox Printers in a quick and efficient manner. Summarizing reports into concise descriptions.
