The Sacramento Regional Transit District’s (RT’s) Green Line to the River District project is the initial segment extending light rail services to the Sacramento International Airport. The $47-million design-build project includes 1.1 miles of track construction from downtown Sacramento north to Richards Boulevard. Geocon served as the third-party quality manager for RT and the design-build team. Our quality management services included supervision of the overall project design and construction quality management program, providing construction quality control management, and performance of construction testing and inspection services. We further provided environmental engineering and health and safety program support for contaminated soil management and disposal coordination associated with debris fill materials encountered in utility excavations. We also provided geotechnical design and construction inspection services for the new RT light rail station on Richards Boulevard constructed in conjunction with the adjacent Township Nine Development.
