The Amber Way Water Tank and Transmission Main project includes construction of a 2.5-million-gallon precast concrete panel water tank and 13,000 feet of 30” ductile iron water transmission main to enhance the Town of Minden’s water supply capability. The unique concrete tank construction offers a continuous, watertight steel diaphragm embedded in the tank wall and multiple layers of bonded pre-stress wire that hold the tank in permanent compression. Geocon performed a geotechnical investigation for both the tank site and the transmission main alignment, and construction inspection and materials testing including monitoring structural fill, trench backfill and concrete, and shotcrete and structural steel inspection.
