Jim Brake, PG

Senior Geologist

Mr. Brake holds bachelor and master of science degrees in geological sciences and is a California Professional Geologist with over 25 years of experience in the environmental industry. He provides environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation services for properties impacted by hazardous substances and petroleum with an emphasis on Brownfields redevelopment projects. Jim assists clients in a wide variety of industries including urban redevelopment, open space and agricultural conservation, mining, transportation, manufacturing, waste disposal, and automotive. His redevelopment projects include railyards and railroad right-of-ways, commercial corridors in older urban areas, and several former hard rock gold mines in the California Motherlode. His redevelopment clients include a mix of city and county government agencies and private developers. These redevelopment projects require that Jim work closely with project stakeholders including buyers, sellers, attorneys, regulatory agencies, and other consultants.

Jim tries to spend most of his spare time outdoors with his family water skiing, snow skiing, surfing, and flyfishing. He loves sharing these activities with his two teenage sons and also helping them pursue their passions of volleyball and pole vaulting.
